Fire pits

We live in a world that is darkened by brokenness and sin. If we were to listen to the voices of the world, we could soon come to the conclusion that there isn’t any light left in the world at all. Media outlets far too often focus and paint a picture of doom and gloom. It could be very distressing if we were to buy into it all and believe it. But wait a minute, let’s stop and look around and we will see that there are sparks of light everywhere, and the world is not as dark as it sometime seems.
Our job as Christ followers is NOT to focus on the doom and gloom but rather to focus on Jesus. We are to walk as He walked. When we walk as He walked we cant help but be able to shine light everywhere we go. “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” Most of us have sung this song since we were children. We shine our light before people, and they cant help but notice it. They see that we live differently, love deeply, and light up the darkness.
Our lives are like the bonfires built in the fire pit on cool fall nights. People have a tendency to draw near to the warm glow of the fire pit. They will leave the comfort of the indoors and step out into the cold just to enjoy the warm glow. A well-made bonfire in the fire pit will have enough light and warmth for an entire crowd to enjoy and the night no longer feels cold or dark and we forget that chill of a fall night.
People are drawn naturally to those whose light shines. Others enjoy being in the presence of someone who exhibits the fruit of the Spirit. There is no brighter light than love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faith and self-control that is shining from within a person. Others will see it blazing like the bonfire in the fire pit, and they will know there is something different about that person. And the difference is Jesus, the Light of the World.
The rest of, This Little Light of Mine Hymn says
Hide it under a bushel, NO I’m gonna let it shine;
Won’t let Satan blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine;
Shine all over (Insert your city) I’m gonna let it shine;
Let it shine till Jesus comes, I’m gonna let it shine;
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Don’t just shine your light on Sunday morning in the sanctuary, don’t hide it under a bushel when you exit the church doors, and whatever you do, don’t let Satan ever affect your light. Letting your light shine is contagious and what our world needs each and every day so let it shine until Jesus comes, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Jesus is the Light of the World!
Blessings
Tim

I love how this blog highlights the cozy and functional aspects of fire pits. They’re perfect for gatherings and chilly evenings. Interestingly, while relaxing by the fire, I often check trends like the bitcoin price—it’s amazing how both can spark warmth and curiosity in very different ways!
